Simply a Must-Buy,
By
This review is from: Digital Penetration Vol.1 (Audio CD)
I bought this album after reading glowing reviews about it in NME. A reader had even written in saying how this kind of music was "the future." I was rather skeptical but decided to buy it just in case (and because it had a Klaxons song on it), the amazing price greatly helping my decision.
On first play, I hated it. Some of the vocals were awful and the overall sound quality was pretty bad on some tracks. But on further listenings (I'd spent money on it, so I was damn well going to listen to it more than once) it grew on me considerably. Tracks like 'On Fire' by Neon Plastix and 'I Don't Remember' by Corey Dargel are fantastic, and while I'm still not fond of some of the bands, such as These New Puritans and Sh*tdisco, I must respect their sheer inventiveness and energy that they put into their songs. This has now become my favourite album by far. I just can't wait for Vol. 2.

An ear-opener,

I bought this album as part of my new method of random buying, I hadn't really heard of any of the bands, and it's changed my taste in music. Each tune makes me want to turn it up louder, it keeps any party going and is a definate crowd-pleaser!

a few gems in there...,

This review is from: Digital Penetration Vol.1 (Audio CD)
yes, as others have said it "takes a few listens" to pick out the gems, of which there are a few.
That said, most of it's crap, terrible vocals in places too. but for £4 you cant really go wrong.
