anybody who appreciated the rchard h kirk album "virtual state" will love this. although not as fully horizontal as that, this stuff is great to listen to on late train journeys. minimal percussion, ace chord and melody structure make this album lean towards Caberet Voltaire tracks of the early nineties, when they were influenced by the detroit stuff and capture the mood of the explosion of warp records in england. very funky. very techno. very nice. well i liked it anyway ....

Stunning tribal tracks 21 April 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This CD by Richard H Kirk is defintely aimed more at the head than the feet, although there are some great dancefloor moments.
'Armed Response' starts things off in a dubby feel, and 'Chocolate Machine' is a intelligent techno classic. 'Drum Meditation' is exactly that. Starting off with a pulsing note, it builds into a beautiful ambient soundscape with a dubby bassline and beat.
By 'Zombie Astral' we're into tribal techno territory. This is an excellent track, blending some of Richard's older elements of musical style with the new. These combine to make an industrial/ambient/techno masterpiece.
I'd buy this CD because it is without doubt this is the best album that he has made as SANDOZ. It is a wonderful ambient/techno CD and if you are anyway into this scene, this is the CD for you.

This is classic music.... 15 April 2002
By "oast1" - Published on Amazon.com

I bought this when it was orginally released under the Touch
label (TO:21) back in '93. I have to say that this is the best work that RH Kirk has done, in my opinion.
Nothing has ever come close to it - in terms of musical content and just blissfull ear candy, and I doubt anything will...
