Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Digital Imaging Training is a suite of four interactive tutorials covering digital cameras, scanners, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat. It's aimed squarely at beginners, so if you've spent any time using a digital camera or scanner, or have browsed through the Photoshop or Acrobat application manuals, you're probably already beyond the scope of this package. If, on the other hand, you've started a new job which requires you to scan in pictures, do a little retouching add some text and turn it into an Acrobat pdf, this could be just what you need--particularly if the only scanner you're familiar with is the one at the local supermarket.

Each tutorial is divided into chapters and you can view the entire chapter, or just pick the bits that interest you. General concepts are covered and specific hands-on topics are explained using animated screenshots where you are asked to participate by making menu and toolbox selections. The quality of the screenshots is in some cases quite poor, and while this isn't generally a problem, in those tutorials where the object is to improve the quality of the images this can be a real hindrance.

Knowledge reviews at the end of each session test what you've learned by getting you to perform menu and tool selection tasks, then score your performance. Digital Imaging Training provides a gentle introduction to digital imaging for the complete novice, but if you want to go further you'll need to consider a specialist book on one of the four areas covered.--Ken McMahon

These are really for the complete beginner, if you have some experience, like myself, then you will find them too basic and not inter-active enough to stay interested.
