Shadow Gallery is one of those bands that really know how to make a great progressive rock/metal album. They received a huge blow when their lead singer Mike Baker died last year, and the question on everyones lips was: can they go on without the Charismatic Baker?
Well, the simple answer is YES THEY CAN!
While Mike will be missed greatly, new singer Brian Ashland has an incredible voice of his own. Shadow Gallery has done a great job integrating Ashland with the trademark sound of the band.
Digital Ghosts sounds absolutely awsome! The great production values are obvious, as everything sounds incredible. The driving rhythms, sensitive interludes and melodies to die for are going to stay with you for a very long time. The musicianship of these guys is second to none, and they have found the perfect balance between metal, rock, classic and progressive styles.
Digital Ghosts is not a concept album (like Room V or Tyranny), but concists of 7 carefully and lovingly crafted epic songs, all of them jewels in their own right.
A must-have for every fan of quality progressive rock/metal, and arguably one of the best albums ever created!
