This item comes in a strong plastic container to protect it, which can be hung up for storage if desired. The thermometre itself is sturdily made. It is very easy to use, (even if you didn't look at the instructions you would be able to use it.) I bought it for checking the temperature of water when using my breadmaker, and it has proved to be perfect for this. There are also lots of other uses for it around the kitchen and home. I can see myself using it regularly for all sorts of things. It is a great item and highly recommended.

As stated, this is a very cheap, reliable but unprotected product. It measures the temperature fairly fast and I've tested it against other thermometers and it is reiliable. The only downside is that it cannot tolerate any water. I had water get onto it accidentaly twice and first the on-button stopped working correctly, however it was possible to turn it on after some tries. Turning it off didn't work however. Second time some LCD segments gave out, so the casing seems to be the only weak point for this product. (We used it to measure baby food temperature, and we'll buy a new one even with this flaw.)

For the Beekeeper
I am a bee keeper and needed the probe to keep a check on the honey being warmed before the final filter. It was just the job !!!

cooking probe
Not used it yet but son-in-law thinks his is fantastic. The digital readout is very clear and accurate and does exactly what it is meant to do, ie, record the internal heat.
