brought this damp tester to check for damp in caravans ,works everytime and has saved us about £12,000 thats what we was going to pay for a caravan but after a couple of minutes this tester found damp where you could not see it but when you moved stuff around there it was great little tool

Works as well as these things do - don't expect accuracy in moisture measurement unless you spend a fortune. But the readings are very repeatable, which is good, and you soon learn the maximum water content that works for your stove or fire. The short instructions are difficult to follow though: not written by someone who knows English well!

Wood moisture meter
This moisture meter arrived quickly and performs very well.

Damp meter
Eseential tool if you have a wood burning stove. Damp wood results in lower heat output, tarred up flue and blackened glass. Only down side is that they don't come with a battery. Read more

Simple and effective
This does exactly what it says. I use it to check my logs, just press the prongs into the wood and it shows the moisture content instantly.
