In this age of digital media everywhere it is very easy to innocently breach those parts of the Copyright Act that apply to digital media.
I am involved in the production of digital media used for educational purposes and for delivery by CD/DVD/streaming video etc. so I needed something that I could use as reference source and importantly was easy to comprehend. I did not wish to spend all day trying to understand if the inclusion of something within the body of the production was legal or not.
Digital Copyright by Simon Stokes fulfills my needs in this respect and covers recent UK and EU legislation, the differences in US legislation and the misconceptions arising from those differences.
Digital media encompasses many modes too complex to list here, but they all seem to be covered in this book. I am glad I bought it, I refer to it frequently if only to provide feedback to others asking if certain 'things' can be included in the 'end product'.
There is no such thing as a 'free lunch' and although not too expensive Digital Copyright by Simon Stokes, in my view helps to keep my productions legal. If you are involved in dealing with the delivery of digital media you should have this book in your personal library.
