Lead received by return of post. Connected i-pod nano to old Arcam Alpha stero amplifier. Superb quality. No complaints whatsoever, except for the 'hidden' £2.99 delivery charge. Is the lead worth nearly £10? By the way, the retailer does not seem to specify the length of the lead. The one I received was 1.8m long.

After listening to the poor sound quality coming through the head phone jack into my car stereo, i decided to go ahead and get this cable expecting a much better sound. The result is superb. No more turning the volume up to the max on both the ipod and head unit and a far crisper better quality sound. I highly recommend this for use in a car and i'm sure it will be just as good with a home system. I had to run the cable round the centre console and into the back of the head unit so there is a wire hanging out, although this is a sacrifice i'm willing to make for the quality of sound! Shame they don't make one in black!

Got this yesterday. Great little cable - just what I was after to output from my iPod into my amp. Seems to be sturdily built. Sound quality is miles better than through the headphone cable. Can't give five stars though, as I've only had it 24 hours so don't know how long it'll last!!! (Please note: reviewed cable was purchased from Digital Additions).

Does what it says on the box. Or the packet, at least. Links the better connector on your iPod or iPhone (the one on the bottom the official lead comes from) to the stereo (variously known as RCA, phono, Left&Right, Red&Black or Red & White) inputs on your hi-fi.
All separate, most mini and micro-systems and even many portable stereos and DAB radios have these inputs now, and the sound quality is almost always better using them than their line (ie. single jack plug) input. Add a decent cable like this one and the fact that you're not getting the sound from the variable headphone output of your iPod adds up to a much better sound overall.
The cable itself is well constructed, feels sturdy and all the connectors are solid enough. It's about 6 feet long too (sorry, nearly 2 metres) so you don't need the iPod to be right next to the stereo. Finally, the product was with us less than 48 hours after the order, so this third party was quicker than Amazon!

I have used this cable to connect an iPod 3 touch to the aux. entrance of the car stereo.

Before, I have been using an rca to 3.5 mm cable and I had two problems. The volume was not loud enough and the audio quality was not very good - I could hear a hissing sound on the background.

With this cable, both problems have been solved. I noticed a gain of 25 - 40 % on the volume and no more background sounds.

I am very satisfied with the item and I would recommend it.

This cable (supplied by Digital Editions) is solidly built and I have had no problems using it (used with an 1st gen iPod Touch), getting excellent sound results.

The only issue which other customers have pointed out is that the cable ends are not colour coded for the left/right RCA audio connection (markings on the cable are in white instead which do not stand out at all), however I can only see that being an annoyance if you are having to attach the cable to your audio input device every time you use it (personally mine is always connected so is not an issue).

Overall this cable works fine and is great value for money (at the time I ordered approx. £10 including postage) in comparison with other quality audio cables that use the dock connector.

The cable seems sturdy enough - especially at the iPod dock end and looks like it will last for a while. The cable is long enough - well over 1m - with gold-plated phono plugs. My only gripe is that the casing for both plugs are white with barely visible lettering to distinguish between L & R channels. This is fine if you are not going to be doing a lot of plugging and un-plugging of the cable. My cable plugs into the AV connection in the front panel of the AV amp and do I want to disconnect the cable when not in use. A small red elastic band round the right phono solved the problem! Recommended.

I looked at a lot of cables and docks to connect my iPod to my HiFi systems before choosing this one. To be honest I was a little put off by the low price and generic look, but I decided to go for it. My principal requirement was to be able to connect via the line-out (bottom socket on the iPod). The cable arrived this morning and I must say it performs extremely well. The connection is solid and the sound quality is excellent through my Arcam amp. Plan to buy another one so I can leave the cables connected to my two main amps.

For the reasonable price I must give this cable five stars.
