As we traipse from plot convenience to plot convenience, we learn about the lives of the one-dimensional residents of Elk River. The author has literally created a world of his own, where no outside influence may intrude. In his world, murder upon murder happen in a vacuum and nobody outside of this town notices? Yeah, right. A total ignorance of the legal process also serves as the means by which his evil character Tony Hunt gets everything done.
Let's not forget the stereotypical policemen and union members in this town of 20,000 and one church.
The plot was unique and had great potential. I actually enjoyed the first 1/4 of the book. It was about that time that I realized a Steven King book was more plausible. This should have been a comic book.
