I hadn't actually heard of a diffuser until I bought my first DSLR camera (Nikon D40) recently. When I found out what it was it sounded like a great idea to stop the white, unnatural colours you get when shooting pictures with the flash on. I ordered this item and it arrived very quickly. It fitted onto the hotshoe mount easily and after trying it out with various different subjects I can definitely recommend it as an essential piece of equipment for taking flash photos. The colours are so much better, more natural - I couldn't believe the difference a cheap bit of plastic made to the pictures. Highly recommended!

Bought this because I had gotten into the habit of doing indoor photography without flash as it turned everybody into a pale skinned zombie. The diffuser softens the light from the flash and makes it warmer leaving people looking like people. For the price you can't go wrong.

I bought this for my Canon EOS 1000D. It is a great bit of kit which makes the built in flash extremely usable and stops all your pictures from being white washed. I am now able to do flash photography at gigs and get good results. It reduces the glare of peoples' skin and allows the natural colours of the shot to come through.
Before I bought this diffuser I never used flash but now I use it a lot. I was going to fork out on an external flash unit so that I could lower the output or use bounce but now I'm not going to bother as this works fine for my needs.
If you still find it's too bright for some situations you can use flash compensation or, what I do is put micropore tape over the bulb.
For the money this is a really helpful and simple piece of technology.
