Synopsis

When Santa decides to stay put and open a year round store in a California suburb, it seemed like a good idea. Children could experience the magic of Christmas year round, and Santa wouldn't have to travel. Unfortunately, Santa's store becomes a tourist-crazy nuisance, and the issue turns political with the upcoming mayoral races. Candidate Elizabeth Gates (CHEERS' Shelley Long) wants to shut down Santa's store, but her 10-year old son is practically living there. Everyone learns a valuable lesson about Christmas by the time the whole thing is sorted out.

As a fan of Shelly long, I bought the dvd on the fact that she was in it. It was a nice story, typically American christmas saga, very cute Santa
, :o)
I will not give the story away...But a nice one about a toy shop, Big one... a little boy needs to find his way mum works too hard....... Loses his dog, and then a christmas miracle happens....
Nice...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not great...but not bad!, 18 Nov 2008
Channel 5 usually shows these type of films in the run-up to Christmas - OK to watch whilst doing the ironing but don't stay in especially!

The premise is that a local councillor doesnt like Santa for some reason. For me the twist of the story was good even though it wasn't a great film. However I still wanted to know what happened at the end! The whole film takes place in June which meant that it never felt particularly Christmassy....Santa could just as easily have been the Easter bunny!

I bought this as part of an 8 DVD set - please look at my reviews for the others as I watch them.
