This book will change your life!, 11 Feb 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Diet Trials: How to Succeed at Dieting (Paperback)
This book addresses ALL the elements needed to change yourself and gain a healthy weight.
Rather than give you a 'follow this specific plan' and succeed approach it seeks to educate you on the facts behind weight gain & loss (behaviours, nutrition, exercise etc.), so that you can make your own choices. It completely blows away the myths about dieting and isn't at all 'faddie'.
It focuses in on the mental attitudes that lead to success. It also looks at HOW and more importantly, WHY people gain weight and ensures that anyone starting on any plan is doing it for the right reasons. By addressing the mental side, the chances of keeping the weight off (or on) will be improved. For those who like structure some diet and exercise options are included in more detail.
Anyone who has tried to lose (or gain) weight, will know that the right mental attitude is essential to success - Diet Trials is a fantastic tool to help you get there. As I was reading it, I realised that many of my thought processes and behaviours weren't unique and picked up loads of ideas of how to address them. Lots of Ah ha moments!
Although this book is designed to accompany a TV program, that is not at all obvious from the text and it stands up completely in it's own right.

Sensible advice, 23 April 2003
This review is from: Diet Trials: How to Succeed at Dieting (Paperback)
No miracles here, nor magic formulae for losing weight but if you really want to know how others lost weight and kept it off read this book...
Once you've got over your initial disappointment that this book has nothing to do with the TV programme of the same name, this book is full of sound advice for step by step weight loss.
Recommended for jaded dieters the world over who've finally come to terms with the fact that quick losses mean quick gains.

This book is quite simply an education. Anyone who is considering weight loss and wants the unbiased facts should buy this book now.
Unlike other diet books, it does not tell you what to do but simply provides you with the information to make your own choices.
Fantastic!
