5.0 out of 5 stars Biofuels made sensible 29 April 2009
Format:Paperback
Run Your Diesel Vehicle on Biofuels: A Do-It-Yourself Manual

I really rate this book, the authors have done an excellent job of bringing DIY-biodiesel-books right up to date. Some of the bestselling biodiesel books out there are painfully out of date, some full of dangerous advice and information, and this is not one of them.

Of course this book is not just about biodiesel, in fact only about half of it is, it brings together all the other options too; such as engine conversion, running on straight vegetable oil or used chip-shop oil, how to convert your engine, how to make biodiesel, how to clean used oil, how to test your fuel is up to the job; it even tells you how to tell the con-men from the good guys and has a small section on "other options" such as blending vegetable oils with solvents.

Pitched at audiences both sides of the Atlantic, neither overly technical or simplistic, the book is friendly in tone, easy to read, hundreds of illustrations and dozens of DIY projects.

As the authors say themselves: "there is nothing in the book which you can't find on the Internet for free" but a book is a much nicer thing to read and the Internet is full of nonsense and idiots who don't know what they are talking about. This book does a brilliant job of separating the BS from the facts.

Highly recommended, whatever your level of experience with Biofuels, this book is the best I have read on the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars well written and presented 18 Dec 2009
Format:Paperback
If you are interested in the biofuel field then you could give yourself a head start with this well written and well presented book. When you become interested in a subject it can be difficult to be sure of your sources of information and this book provides not only good basic information but more importantly points you towards others who can further your studies both in the UK and America.
If you intend to make your own biodiesel then I strongly recommend you get this book first, and save the time, trouble, and money that you will nodoubt waste if you buy your equipment on the basis of most sellers claims.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most up to date book on biodiesel 10 Dec 2009
Format:Paperback
There are a few books on biodiesel but this one is the most up to date (some of the others are quite dated). It gives very practical step by step instructions and everything else you need to make and use biodiesel or veg oil to run your vehicle. I'd thoroughly recommend it.
