From Amazon.co.uk

Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker play an estranged husband and wife, both die-hard New Yorkers; while trying to patch things up, they witness a murder and have to go into witness protection in backwater Wyoming. Encounters with bears, bingo, and rodeo clowns ensue. The fish-out-of-water formula is not particularly inspired, but Grant and Parker are well matched; they're both pros who establish an immediate rapport and comfort with each other, making them persuasive as a married couple who haven't fallen out of love. On top of that, the supporting cast is top-notch: Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men) as Parker's snippy assistant, Sam Elliott (Thank You for Smoking) as the Wyoming marshal assigned to protect the neurotic couple, and Mary Steenburgen (Melvin and Howard) as the marshal's tough-as-nails wife are only the most recognizable of the solid ensemble playing the quirky characters surrounding the feuding romantic leads. Writer-director Marc Lawrence previously directed Grant to stronger effect in Music & Lyrics and, in particular, Two Weeks Notice, in which Grant and Sandra Bullock proved surprisingly sparky. --Bret Fetzer

    1.0 out of 5 stars Hopeless 26 Oct 2010
    Format:DVD
    Hugh Grant - predictable
    Sarah Jessica-Parker - disappointing
HG is what he always is nowadays, but that's ok, at least he's always funny.
SJP is hopeless!!! I'm sorry, but there is no other word to describe her performance in this movie.
She is over-acting, which spoils pretty much everything, and the whole "I'm a New Yorker" thing is just a little too desperate in my opinion.
Now I've seen few movies with SJP and I know she can do better, so what on earth possessed her to portray Mrs. Morgan/Foster in such a poor way that really ruins the whole movie?

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother to meet the Morgans! 5 May 2010
    Format:DVD
What a disappointment this movie is. The 2 leads just don't gel too well together, and even though Hugh grant is playing the same role he always plays, this time he is making less effort doing it. The script is poor, and Grant was never going to win an oscar for his performance in it (not that he's ever likely to win anything more than tv quicks favourite 50 year old rom com actor). A couple of scenes just about made me grin, but this isn't a clever film/comedy, it's just plain boring, unlike 'it's complicated' which is the opposite of this film (funny script and decent acting).

3.0 out of 5 stars Did You Hear About The Morgans? 24 Nov 2010
    By Chelsey
    Format:DVD
`Did You Hear About the Morgans?' is Hollywood's best stab at a romantic comedy for 2009 that would make its mark. Unfortunately, many of those who have seen the film think of it as a poor effort. The general feeling is that `Did You Hear About the Morgans?' is unoriginal and just another of your typical romcoms; but it is unfair to expect a completely fresh approach from a genre that is known and loved for its predictability.

There is no couple better than Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker to star as Paul and Meryl, a rich, stylish, yet separated couple, otherwise known as the Morgans. Due to stupidity on Paul's part, he is striving to gain forgiveness from his wife after his infidelity, when they witness a murder and are put under state protection. Leaving their New York City lives far behind them, they fly to Ray Wyoming and are cut off from every connection to their beloved way of living; an unbearable situation for the pair. The relocation gives writer-director, Marc Lawrence, further fuel for comedy, and performances from Sam Elliott and Mary Steenburgen as the Morgans' protectors are the icing on the cake. What follows is a series of bear attacks, horse rides, woodcutting and cow-milking; events that render the Morgans flabbergasted and the audience in stitches.

With all jokes aside, `Did You Hear About the Morgans?' delves deep into common issues married couples may have, and the emotions that walk hand in hand with them, whilst keeping it light-hearted with the relocation and extreme situations they find themselves in when they least expect it; a combination that romcom lovers revel in and adore.

Although it has been criticised widely for not being an Oscar-winning film, `Did You Hear About the Morgans?

1.0 out of 5 stars Cringe inducing 20 Sep 2010
    By Prospero77 VINE™ VOICE
    Format:DVD
Hugh Grant was OK in this sort of thing in his 20's. That gauche, 'just out of Oxbridge' fop who stumbles over every second syllable and is quite lost without 'Nanna'. Sadly that was nearly 20 years ago. I'm not disrespecting Grant, a multi-millionaire after all, he was first rate in 'About A Boy' and remains a decent enough actor when he underplays it slightly. But this really is dross 'B' picture territory. The sort of thing that will play just after 'Murder She Wrote' on the daytime TV schedules and that, frankly, is where it belongs. It's a shame because with the superb Sam Elliott and further solid support from Mary Steenburgen this could have worked well with another British actor. But Grant, doing that bewildered public school thing yet again, replete with references to tea and crumpets, is quite nausia inducing I'm afraid. For a much more impressive effort in the genre I'd take a look at 'The Proposal' with Sandra Bullock.

3.0 out of 5 stars the same old stuff, but still enjoyable 10 April 2012
    Format:Blu-ray
We have all seen this movie dozens of times before, it might not have the same name or, with the obvious exception of Hugh Grant, the same actors, but it is the same story, we all know what is going to be predictable. With that in mind I can't really judge this film on the basis of lack of originality, how could I? Hugh Grants face is on the poster so, let's face it, everybody that watches this movie, voluntarily, knows what they are going to get. I think these kinds of movies are very often peoples guilty pleasures, and I include myself in that demographic. For me, there are few things more enjoyable than a good Hugh Grant movie, I'm not looking to have my mind blown or hoping to witness a re-definition of cinema, I just want to sit back and enjoy a romantic comedy! Trust me being a man; it's not really easy to admit that on the internet for everyone to see.

It's crucial for a romantic comedy to possess a certain level of charm and chemistry, especially if the story is thoroughly familiar and has nothing new to offer. Not only do these vital elements help us to forget that we're essentially spending our precious free time to watch yet another retread of a concept we've already seen countless times before, but they also go a long way in making the constant clichés enjoyable.

I'm pleased, and rather pleasantly surprised to say that together, Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker display all the chemistry that is needed for a couple to be entertaining on screen.

As you would expect there are truly no surprises in Did You Hear About the Morgans? Every moment from, bear attacks to rekindling romances can be seen from a mile off.

In fact, if I was to put my super critical logical hat on, the only justifiable reason to watch Did You Hear About the Morgans?
