The biggest issue with this book is that all the characters (bar one) are so horrible and un-relatable.
The character of Sarah spends the whole book making pretty stupid decisions and then moaning and wallowing in self pity, without any real thought for anyone else's feelings. If she was my friend I think I'd give her a slap and tell her to get over herself before moving away and changing my phone number! The character of Nick is just a ridiculous walking cliche of the "bad boy" regurgitated from millions of half rate romance books, and reproduced without any apparent redeeming features. In fact the only decent character is Sarah's poor boyfriend, who is a perfectly nice character with a strong belief system, who is made out to be extremely irritating and in the wrong (I struggled to find fault with him anywhere, and couldn't really work out why none of the other characters liked him..!)
As for the obligatory "happy ending" err.. where was this? It just left me feeling empty. The sheer predictability and selfish attitude of all the characters made me mightily annoyed!
I love Marion Keys and Sophie Kinsella, I'm a massive unashamed fan of "chick-lit" but I thought that this book was full of didgy cliché, and the characters were all about as deep as puddles. I also thought it was really badly written. All the short, unnecessary sentences drove me crazy, and by the time I'd struggled to the end I was hoping that the would be some kind of reward, but was left vastly dissappointed.
My advise - don't waste your time on this book!
