An easy bedside read. 21 Nov 2001
Format:Paperback
Although Curious and Interesting Geometry was recommended to me by a university reading list, its pace and easy delivery is definately suitable for pre uni reading.

As you would expect Wells lists alphabeticaly interesting geometrical facts. Unfortunately his definitions contain too much text, and fairly few mathematical explanations for my liking. There is a list of more mathematical books in his bibliography, though he doesnt often refer to them, making further reading and research difficult.

A book, in my opinion, that has been designed as a nice easy read, and is suitable to encourage any one with an interest in geometery to persue it further.

Shape Up 17 Dec 2003
Format:Paperback
A fascinating book that has something for anyone with an interest in geometry, whether they're still at school or just completing a PhD in mathematics. Mathematics is probably the closest human beings come to touching eternity, and geometrical discoveries made by the Babylonians or Greeks thousands of years ago are as valid and beautiful today as they were on the day they were made. You can find those discoveries here with work by modern geometricians, but Wells doesn't forget the special appeal geometry has for the eye and the aesthetic sense: there are also a lot of beautiful and sometimes mind-twisting diagrams.

By Richard
Format:Paperback
An intruiging book, there is so much fascinating geometry and Mr. Wells covers a wide range of it. There are almost no proofs, but once a theorem is given then recourse can be made to the internet for the proof.
