Amazon Verified Purchase
A good dictionary, as you would expect from the Oxford Press. It is designed for Catalonians learning English which gives it a certain appeal, so the cover notes, preface, index etc. are written in Catalan. It is not Pocket sized, as the name suggests, at 18.5/13/4 cm. A good reference book. It also comes with a cd which speaks English words but not their Catalan equivalent.

This dictionary is prilarily designed for Catalan speakers to learn English, rather than English speakers to learn Catalan (although this was not the impression given by the product outline).

This is up to the usual Oxford standard and, as such, is excellent; but only if you are a native Catalan speaker. Why would Amazon suggest you buy this if you were only learning the language? The dictionary is in Catalan and, as such,there are no pronunciation guidelines. The English part uses phonetic script to help pronounce the words which is pretty pointless - a pity.
