Product Description

Everybody’s favorite wimp, Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon), is back for three times the fun in the latest film based on the super-popular book series. When Greg’s dad (Steve Zahn) threatens to send him to military school if he doesn’t stay out of trouble, Greg finds all-new ways to land himself in the doghouse. For starters, Greg’s in over his head when he pretends to work at the swanky country club where Rowley’s family has a membership. Things don’t go much better on a father-son camping trip with the Wilderness Explorers and then there’s the Heffley’s new dog, Sweetie, who fetches even more trouble for Greg in this hilarious family film.

From Amazon.co.uk

Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3: Dog Days, the third instalment in the Wimpy Kid films, is sublimely funny for all ages. That's a tall order, but it's really true. The script, the jokes, the acting, the dialogue are all appropriate for pretty much all ages of children, but manage to be super-appealing to adults too. Zachary Gordon is back as Greg, the wimpy kid who just can't quite square his true desires--to play video games all summer, indoors--with his well-meaning dad's intention that he do something worthwhile, and preferably outside. When Greg starts hanging out at the swanky country club pool to be nearer his crush, Holly (Peyton List), he lets his dad (Steve Zahn) believe he's gotten a job there. The jokes and gags are not highbrow, and yet director David Bowers and the talented cast and well-written script keep things moving along, if you will, swimmingly. What's great about the Wimpy Kid films is that the kids are believable and on-trend, and yet wear age-appropriate clothes and don't drop swear words. It's endearing to see middle-schoolers treated as the almost-teens they are--emphasis on "almost." Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3: Dog Days is truly a comedy that the whole family can enjoy together. --A.T. This film was my first experience of the 'Wimpy Kid' series, when I took my 12 year old daughter to see it at the cinema.

I was expecting something aimed solely at the children, but was pleasantly surprised at how very good it was. I think I probably laughed more during the film than my daughter, who also found it very funny.

The acting by the youngsters is solid and incredibly entertaining, complemented by the adults who add to the drama and humour of each scene.

The plot is fine and bowls along at a good pace so there are never any lulls or dull moments.

For me, this is a film which delivers on so many levels and, as a previous reviewer points out - whilst it is not perfect, it is however exceptionally good and cleverly made.

Took my children to see this and was expecting to be bored out my brain. I was pleasantly surprised that is was actually really funny. I laughed out loud most of the way through. Thouught that the characters are very well cast, just love Roderick and Gregg is great too. I won't give the story away but definately a good buy for Christmas.

Well, when I first saw this in the cinema I thought this would be the best in the trilogy of movies. It's the complete opposite.

Number one: I think they cast Greg well, yet the storyline is just annoying. It's just about a boy who has a lame life and stupid events happen, and even though the character is meant to be felt sorry for I actually feel like this boy has got no common sense whatsoever. Don't get me wrong, this actor is brilliant but throughout the film I just hate the character. Number Two: apparently the dad and Greg hate this comic called 'Lil Cutie.' Greg quotes 'now we won't have to read this garbage anymore!' If they hated it so much, why didn't they just NOT read it? Was there a law that you had to read the comics in order thread the newspaper? Total lack of common sense!

The final point is that Manny is as stupid as hell! How could the casting directors have messed up a perfectly basic role with such a stupid looking child who can't even act. No offense to the kid, but come on! Seriously? Right now I'm not sure whether this movie is enjoyable or if a cup of coffee is enjoyable. I'm sorry, but whoever made this movie needs to make another series of movies that has realism and common sense, good actors and interesting! Some of you may be disagreeing with me, but take it from the point of view of a film critic. Three stars, average film, nothing else to say.

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: DOG DAYS wasn't perfect, but it was a good enough family film that provided plently of comedy and a little too much toilet humour. I have only seen the orginal DIARY OF A WIMPY KID film prior to this one, and I thought that one was alright, but I didn't know what to expect from this installment. The acting was fine. Steve Zahn in particular was great as Greg's (the main character) father. The storyline did rely on toilet humour a bit too much for me, but kids will love it! There was one surprisingly scary scene, but it wasn't too bad. Overall a gross but entertaining family movie! Better than HORRID HENRY anyway. 7/10

We watched this as a family as my 8yr old son is working his way through the Wimpy Kid books at the moment and he LOVED it. There are some real laugh out load moments throughout. A great film to all sit down and watch on a weekend afternoon!

My daughter owned 1 & 2 and really enjoyed them, so I bought this as a stocking filler for Christmas. It was a nice addition and she enjoyed this one just as much as the other two
