Book Description

A teenager wakes up in a seedy hotel room. He has no memory of his name or his past. A man lies dying on the floor next to him. Someone starts pounding at the door.

He runs. He is chased.

While staying one step ahead of his pursuers, he begins to assemble the pieces of his life. His name is Axel. He is the victim of an amazing experiment – he has been given incredible powers – and he is not alone.

An organisation known only as The Agency has also modified other teenagers. Brodie is a master of the martial arts. Ebony can transmute one substance into another. Dan controls metals with his mind. Chad creates fire and ice from nothing.

They have been handed incredible powers to help the human race in times of crisis – and one of those times is now.

A terrorist organisation known as Typhoid has acquired Pegasus – a highly advanced missile, invisible to radar and conventional defence systems. They intend to fire it at an American city. Only this bunch of untried, untested teenage superheroes stands any chance of stopping the missile before it strikes its target.

Diary of a Teenage Superhero is a high octane thriller showing what happens when conventional teenagers with everyday problems are given powers beyond this world.

They have to learn to work together, but as Axel draws closer to his newfound friends, he remembers the words of the dying man in the hotel room.

Trust no-one.

He knows he can’t trust The Agency.

Can he even trust his newfound friends?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read! Brilliant book for younger teens! 8 July 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Essentially a YA story about a group of orphaned teenagers with incredible powers. Started reading Saturday night and didn't put it down till the early hours. The story has great characters, action, romance and some rather nasty villians from out of this world! Would recommend it to both of my daughhters aged 13 and 15. Looking forward to reading series 2

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeping her quiet! 8 Aug. 2013
By MMoore
Format:Kindle Edition
Well, the journey back from holiday can always be a bit of an anti-climax...you know the feeling of finishing off a box of Thorntons only to know that you will have to work harder at the gym next week. Nothing makes the journey so much more enjoyable than a twelve year old girl humphing and grunting about the heat, the traffic, the queues etc. So although I was keen to start my new Grisham novel, I relinquished my kindle to said daughter with a book I had downloaded for free as an emergency. I have never seen her more engrossed and focused and fairly quite (only the odd giggle or question "isn't Axle a funny name?" But then it is eyes down and then silence. At one point I thought we had left her at the airport as we had not heard a peep out of her for so long. So, a great book for keeping them quiet!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars A great adventure 29 Dec. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book grabbed your attention from the first page and didn't let go. This was a good captivating read without being intense or deep, just action. The characters were all individual and mostly likeable. The plot was predictable in places but there is nothing wrong with that. Goodies v baddies struggle and fight, battles won and lost. There were a few aspects which made the book a bit different: Aliens and memory loss to list a couple. This will appeal to young and old alike if you are into action and adventure.(I'm 51) Looking forward to the next episode.
