Product Description

Product Description

I’ve been keeping a diary and I’m sharing it with you. Me—Skye Parks—a twenty-five-year-old girl, who lives in suburban New Jersey with schizophrenia. I figure we’ll never really meet because you won’t know that the girl sunbathing on the beach in North Wildwood, New Jersey, is me—someone who endured a small stint in a mental institution, someone who is not “herself’ without her meds. You probably know someone like me, you just don’t know it, because schizophrenics hide in plain sight, and suffer behind closed doors. So, here’s your peek into the life of a schizophrenic.

I found that it made very interesting reading, as it is an illness that is little understood by people who do not suffer from schizophrenia.

Very good first hand account and patient insight into her prescriptive on how schizophrenia effects her mental state and activities of daily living

This book was really helpful from a professional point of view. Gave me a good insight into how a person with a diagnosis of schizophrenia attempts to manage their illness and their activities of daily living

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Account 12 April 2014

This is a well-done brief story of a young woman's mental illness. More detail would have been welcome and I hope she does a sequel someday. The writing is professional and nicely paced. I seriously doubt her illness was precipitated by pot smoking. Seems to be a convenient out for the parents, who would not be to blamed in any case. The disease is mysterious and can strike anyone, any where. I hope she continues her diary and publishes more. Rarely are such self-published works so competently done.

I just couldn't get into it, i think the way it was written couldn't quite hold my attention even though I am very interested in people's person experiences with mental health issues.
