Book Description

16 July 2010
In the sophisticated noughties, so we're told, football hooliganism is a thing of the past. They ought to try telling it to Cardiff City's Real Soul Crew . . . For four decades now, the Cardiff boys have been one of the most active football firms to travel the length and breadth of the UK. From the Welsh capital and the valleys to the London grounds of arch-rival firms Spurs and Millwall, the Soul Crew have made their presence felt - challenging all comers but never, they insist, taking on anyone who wasn't asking for a fight in the first place. Published in a new professionally designed and edited compendium volume, the grassroots cult books of Cardiff fan Abraham are presented between one cover for the first time. From tear-ups at local derbies to time spent in a continental jail, the author chronicles his fellow fans' trials and tribulations - as well as their triumphs.

Annis Abraham Jnr. is a lifelong Cardiff supporter with deep-rooted connections to his club. 5.0 out of 5 stars excellent book 2 Oct 2010
Format:Paperback
Having been on the scene myself and an avid reader of hooli books, this book caught my eye as it was written by ANNIS who is well known and respected. He captured his and our memories of the 70's and 80's scene and didn't glorify it.!! He even got rival lads to add their replies and cut no corners. I didn't have much to do with Cardiff in the early days being a West Ham fan but i heard many stories which have been verified in this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for all lads 16 Sep 2010
By Greg
Format:Paperback
This book is a must read for lads/casuals everywhere. Wether youre on the scene now, or were a part of it during the heyday, you'll no doubt relate to the stories brought you by Annis Abraham, the lads who fought side by side with him as part of the Soul Crew and by those who stood toe to toe with Cardiffs notorious firm.

There are plenty of hooligan books around and Ive not seen many, if any better than 'The Complete Chronicles'. A mix of the cold hard truth of how it was mixing it with Cardiffs lads, and the humour and laughs along the way.

This book is essential reading for any lad and is as much a part of the casual scene as a pair or Trimm Trabs or Stone Island gear.

5.0 out of 5 stars A view from England 12 Sep 2010
By Wilts
Format:Paperback
I read the original version which was a good account and brought back memories from games i attended in my youth. This updated version is more professionally produced with some great original stories by quality authors like Annis, Big Gwyn, Simmo and Mikey Dye. THe up dated version includes great accounts of recent trouble at Swindon and Chelsea which shows that the culture of football is still there despte CCTV, Banning Orders etc.

Unlike most 'hooligan' books this has accounts from both sides and not the usual 1 sided version of events with interesting stories from Chelsea, Plymouth and Brum to name but 3.

Fair play to Annis. He has produced some great books. This one IMHO is 2nd to Shattered Dreams ( a must read for CCFC fans). For anyone who grew up watching football in the 80s and 90s it is a must read.

Looking forward to Annis autobiography.

5.0 out of 5 stars SUPERB!!!!!! 6 Sep 2010
Format:Paperback
What an Excellent read, had this book to go on Holiday and couldnt put it down. Gives a true account of what used to go on, still goes on today but not as much as the Police are well on top. But this book is not like other football lads' books there is no Porkies printed just true accounts, Not just from Cardiff but lads from other firms. As I said superb read and a Job well done.
