Although it is very heavy reading going through the detail of his day to day workload and the pressures on his family life it is stillworth sticking with it too the end.
What was striking was how much effort he had to put in dealing with bruised egos of ministers and their petty arguments, it was amazing anygthing got done!
I must admit to being a fan of these diaries - I have read all three volumes so far. If you are interested in politics and want a ringside seat on the events of the last decade, - this may well be a great book for you too, whatever your views of the last government.
