This collection of northern soul spans 3 record companies, 'Dial', 'Hickory' and 'Challenge'. It comes with a 12 page booklet which does a good job, it's well designed and looks quite good. The music shines bright, this compilation hardly ever puts a foot wrong, nearly all tracks sound great and are of the highest musical order. Any comp. that contains Joe Tex, Jerry Fuller, Paul Kelly and Barbara Mills is always gonna be good. A few of my favourites apart from those mentioned above are '24hr service' by Charlie Romans, 'I'll forgive and forget' by Ron Holden along with 'I'll hold you' by Frankie and Johnny. One of the best comp's I've bought this year, and i've bought far too many already. Go and buy it.

a serious attempt put together with great thought ,for the more discriminating soul lover, a must have for the real soulful r n b lovin people serious stuff you either get it or you dont i get it all the way .100% bonna fide northern soul at its best ,regulars of the clubs from yesteryear e g the torch wheel va va casino cats whiskers will know the score they will love it, a regular on the all night scene myself from the casino mid 70s to the more recent venues of today still crave the authentic big beat n ballads of 60s black america and its all here on this compilation. so what are you waiting for save your self a good few hundred quid or possibly a grand and buy this exellent compilation its as good as it looks, and in the words of dials very own mr joe tex you better believe it baby .so so soulfull sounds without the hefty price tag. s p collins
