3.0 out of 5 stars Basic introduction to Ayurveda, 30 Mar 2011
By
M. Osorio "miciola" (uk) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Dhanwantari: Complete Guide to the Ayurvedic Life (Paperback)
This was my first book on the subject. I did enjoy reading it (easy reading) and it gave me the first taste of the world of ayurveda.
I am not giving it more stars because it is basic/general on the subject and not comphrensive but perhaps a good way to start.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent resource to a life of health, 27 Feb 2001
By "kewalu" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Dhanwantari: Complete Guide to the Ayurvedic Life (Paperback)
This has been a wonderful book to read in this world of meat-obsessed diet and disease ridden lifestyles. I read it whenever possible to take a peak into the ancient wisdoms of the Hindu prophets who created these techniques for living. It's a fascinating, intelligent book, and a wake-up call to our modern (not always better) way of life.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good introduction for Ayurveda, 4 April 2001
By Tommi Leino - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Dhanwantari: Complete Guide to the Ayurvedic Life (Paperback)
Johari's text is pleasant and easy to read and his book gives a pretty good introduction for the subject. Johari as a "Renaissance man" knows how to combine Ayurveda with western knowledge for easier adoption without breaking the original meaning of this ancient Vedic science. It is only that the rest of book is only a list of diseases and their remedies etc., so there is not so much information on this book, only half of the book is worth reading. The book gives good example activities such as waking up early in the morning that you can try the next day and instantly see the results, how much such a lifestyle can alter your life. Get this book, if you want to know what the Ayurveda is all about.
