Why Cast Iron? Cast iron is an excellent conductor of heat which ensures an even heat distribution on all heat sources including induction.
Why French Cast Iron? Quite simply it's the best. The Ardennes region of France has been manufacturing premium quality cast iron cookware for generations.
Why Chasseur? Chasseur Cast iron is all hand crafted for consistent quality with a double coating of enamel. The primer coat seals the body while the coloured top coat not only provides an attractive appearance but also adds to the durability of the product and allows easy cleaning. The Chasseur range consists of Round and Oval Casseroles, Saucepans, Oval and Rectangular Serving Dishes and Roasters, Pate terrines, numerous Frypans and Grillpans plus Woks and Fondues.
Suitable for Cooking and Serving: Can be used on the hob, in the oven and under the grill for cooking and/or roasting plus ideal for serving. The attractive colourful appearance means they can go straight from the cooker to the table where due to the heat retention of the Cast Iron they will keep your food warm for second helpings. And when you've cooked and served they are easy to clean either in the dishwasher or in hot soapy water.
CASSEROLES
Cooking: Incredibly versatile, energy efficient and practicle. The Casseroles can be used on all hobs (including induction and Aga), under the grill and in the oven. As the Cast Iron retains its heat the Casseroles are especially suitable for slow cooking either on the hob or in the oven, once simmering the heat can be turned right down thereby making them extremely energy efficient. In addition the lid has internal rings which act as a conductor for condensation while cooking thereby retaining the moisture and self basting the food.
Serving:Once the cooking has finished the Casseroles are perfect for serving at the table. The external enamel ensures that the casserole looks the part while the food is kept warm by the cast iron which once again retains its heat.
Cleaning:The Casserole can either be cleaned in the Dishwasher or in warm soapy water. In the case of stubborn food the dish can be happily left to soak overnight. The enamel is virtually indestructable and while not non stick makes cleaning easy.
