Product Description

Product Description

This Ravioli Making Set enables you to make your own ravioli at home, it tastes so much better when it is homemade. You can make 12 raviolis from each sheet of pasta dough. The frame measures 30cm long x 11cm wide.

It is really easy to make your own ravioli. Use a rolling pin or Pasta Machine to make flat sheets from your pasta dough. Place one sheet of dough over the ravioli frame. Use the press to create the indents for your filling. Fill the indentations with a filling of your choice (there are 2 recipes on our packaging). Place another sheet of dough over the top. Press the sheets together and use the wooden roller to seal your raviolis and create the zig zag edges. Just leave them to dry and they are ready to cook.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not so easy as it looks 21 Oct 2013

My first try with the mould worked Ok, but not so easy to release from the mould even though I I floured it, maybe my mix needs to be a bit drier, but if made too dry, it would crack upon filling, so work ongoing

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job 16 May 2013

Simple gizmo for ravioli. I have not tried the more manual method of cutting by hand so I opted for this based on some reviews I read. The trick is to l or flour the tray before adding the pasta of you will end up with a sticky mess. The final ravioli was well shaped and held up during cooking.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pay a bit more and get better quality. 10 July 2014

Not the best one I have ever used...had to press really hard with the rolling pin to get the ravioli cut. There are better ones available even if you have to pay a bit more.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for the faint hearted.. 21 Jun 2014

It works to an extent but the pasta sticks to it like glue - despite flouring it. It was worth a shot but I'm going to stick to 'manual' ravioli methods and not rely on a mould.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just What I needed 16 Jun 2014

I found the Dexam very easy to use. Having the plastic insert to make the indentations rather than having to press the pasta into a preformed mould (like some other ravioli moulds) made for a much quicker process and more uniform ravioli. I used the roller to mark where to cut, then removed the pasta sheet intact, left to dry for 30min (as suggested in some recipes) with occasional turning and used a pastry cutter to make the final cuts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice pasta 10 Jun 2014

I read that trays are the best way of making ravioli in the kitchen and I now agree. I was surprised at how good they turned out on the first attempt. Pasta making is time consuming but fun now and again. The possibilities of amazing fillings are endless!

1.0 out of 5 stars Good idea, in theory 12 May 2014

but in practice this didn't work for me. It is inconceivable that the pasta would be dry enough not to stick to the utensil and then not come apart in the water. On the other hand, if the pasta is sticky enough to hold the two halves of the raviolo together then it will be too sticky to come away from the utensil. And once stuck there is no way to get anything underneath it to unstick it. Also, very difficult to clean. Mine came minus the roller but when I phoned the vendor they sent me one immediately. Full marks, at least, for that!
