I have no time for companies that either design in a flaw to generate revenue from consumables, or fail to deal with an obvious flaw when pointed out. If you look at the reviews on Karcher pressure washers you will see that they deliberately changed the design of the lance to incorporate a weakness that would result in a revenue stream from replacement lances. My review was the first of many to point out the weakness and ask why the robust design of the previous model had been changed.

I wonder whether deWalt have done the same with the design of their 305mm mitre saws? A local supplier tells me he has had to replace "many" of the aluminium fences at a cost of £79 plus VAT because of "operator error". You may find your fence is bent when you can't get correct alignment using the instructions in the manual.

"Many" gives the clue to a design error resulting in a revenue stream for deWalt. There are 305mm mitre saws avaliable at less than half the price and had I known that deWalt had joined Karcher and other manufacturers in producing kit where failure in normal use is predictable, I would not have bought my mitre saw from them. In my opinion, deWalt is no longer a company to rely on for superior products.
