I live in an old house, with thick walls and a 'rambling' layout, and always had great difficulty in getting my wireless internet signal from one end of the house (where the master phone socket was) to the other (where my computer lives). So my wireless internet ended up with wires and aerials all over the place, which was hardly the idea...

Anyway, I thought I'd see if the Devolo Homeplug was any better, and it is! I wish I had never bothered with wireless, as the blue plugs were easy to set up and worked straight away with no problems at all. I am amazed how few people use this technology, as it works perfectly, with a far greater range than wireless ever managed.

I would recommend this kit as the perfect 'idiot proof' solution to creating a home network.

I'd tried wireless twice and both times it would work for a day or so and then be useless as the signal had to travel through several amplifiers and guitars upstairs. I had virtually given up on the idea until I read about these. With not a lot of confidence I bought them (and a Netgear wired Router) and thought "here goes nothing". I couldn't believe how easy it was! The router installed itself in five clicks, including getting all the ISP information itself, and as soon as I plugged in the Devolo devices the two computers were online instantly. And the best part is because of the router the host machine doesn't have to be on for the other computer to work. I would highly recommend these to anyone - I have Telewest Blueyonder cable internet and the speed is barely affected. Ten out of Ten for Devolo.

Was considering installing wires all over the house to connect two computers and a laptop together, then I saw these.
Bought the starter kit and an extra plug as well, took 30 mins or so to connect them all together, instructions are minimal in text, but they provide large pictures of how its done and these are easy to understand. The beauty of the plugs with the laptop is I can use any room in the house or garden as long as there is an electrical socket available, I would highly recommend these, I bought the duo but did not have to as my computers all have ethernet cards installed, so not sure how the USB side of the plug work ?.
