These devices are fantastic. LIke everybody says you just plug them in and...well that's it they just work - as long as one is connected to your router via a normal network cable you are sorted. I find that 85Mbps is nmore than adequate and for the price they give you the performance you need.

Two things worth noting:

1) You are supposed to have them plugged into the mains sockets and not on multipoint extension leads. Well I have both my current ones plugged into extention leads and there is no issue but that is not to say it will work for everybody.

2) You have to make sure that all the sockets are on the same ring main otherwise they cannot talk across rings. I have noticed that this is a problem so before you startt b laming the plugs for not working, make sure you know how your house is wired up!

It's difficult to write about this product without just repeating what other reviewers have said, but that's just because it does exactly as it says on the tin. We live in an old house with a workshop in the garden. The walls are thick so WiFi is simply not an option. Until now the internet has been directed only into two upstairs rooms with individual cables coming out from the modem/router. We were about to install another cable through the floorboards to get internet downstairs when I discovered the Devolo range. And WHAT a discovery.

The set-up is the most straightforward I have ever come across and in 2 minutes we had internet in every room of the house, and in the workshop 50 metres down the garden outside. Simply amazing.

The only necessity is that the whole house is on the same main ring circuit; i.e. you have one consumer box/trip switches board and not two. The standard house circuit has two subsidary rings, one upstairs and one downstairs connected by the one consuming box. However as long as it's all going through the one box (i.e. coming from the one place) you'll have no problem using this product.

It waits to be seen whether transfer rates will dip once several computers are running at once. It sounds like the reviewer who had a power shortage in his house and thus couldn't get the product to work was just unlucky. For everyone else this is an absolute must. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I have just begun working from home, my wife also operates a business from home, living in a rural area miles from the exchange on a slow wireless network we needed to up the speed. We bought these and plugged them in and have been amazed, we can stream TV to each of the 3 plugs with no delays despite my office being 50 feet uphill from the house. For networking made easy I can't recommend these enough. I found them cheaper away from the Amazon site

Great product and worked straight out of the box. Do though follow instructions, and be particularly careful about noting down the serial numbers of each plug and where you install them. This information is needed when you alter the default password to one of your choosing or a random password (latter is easier). Telephone helpline available and response very quick indeed.

I now run two PCs in an adjoining building, both of which access the interest via an ethernet cable and Devolo plug via standard three-pin UK plugs. I have a BTHomeHub which also connects my laptop and another PC wirelessly. I use MicroSoft Windows (different versions on each machine) and had no problems with using MicroSoft networking facility to copy and paste, view files etc.

An excellent product and well worth the money.

These are brilliant home plugs. I plugged them all in. Got one connected to the back of my router which is downstairs, one connect to the tv and one in my upstairs bedroom which is also connected to a 8 port Ethernet hub which serves all of my devices in my room such as Xbox, Blu-ray, 3 computers e.t.c

These are simply plug and play ! No setup required, a newt workers dream !

I have got reports from all of the plugs. They all run roughly at 76 MBPS which is brilliant, not far off the 85 max.

They also turn off and go onto power save when the Ethernet port has not detected a device which is also another redeeming feature.

If you want a decent home plug then buy these because they are simply the best ! WOW !!!

First of all - these units do work. I've happily streamed media using them from a PC to a media player - video and audio. If that's all you want to do then go ahead and buy these units. However - if you want to get the speeds you're paying extra for, read on.

The units I received do not operate at the speeds they're advertised to run at. Max speed with FTP transfer, Windows to Linux is 15Mbps (the speed of their cheaper model). The devolo plugs were on the same extension block inches from each other.

I went back and forth with Devolo support over this. One of their support engineers told me the network protocol overheads take up 50% of the transfer data. If that's the case how can these be advertised as 85mbps units?

I'm getting my money back and going for another brand.

I recently bought a blu ray player for my main room and havea PS3 in another room. I wanted to hook them both up to the internet but wirelessly it was a bit slow playing online gaming in one room while someone surfed the net via the blu ray player in the other room. So I bought these plugs to make every electrical socket in my house a potential internet point. AMAZING results

get great speed no slowdown and no lagg's no more bufferin either !

One thing I was scared about was setup, I hate routers and technical set ups like MAC Addresses and WEP keys and installing drivers etc, so i was a bit scared when i opened the box and found a CD and all this stuff about it being Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 compatable. But then the little instruction leaflet that came with it said just plug one unit into the socket near your router and the ethernet plug into your router, did that and plugged the other 2 plugs near my Blu Ray & PS3 respectively. NO SETUP needed no need to use the CD it was WICKED, can't recomend highly enough.

Wirless is great but you can't beat a wired speed connection, its been less than a week but I love it !
