U.S. Marshal Jack McCay tracks outlaws for a profession and sweet-talks women out of their clothes for pleasure. When he begins to hunt a vicious killer, he meets one beautiful woman resistant to his charm. Tessa Jane Creager searches for her family's murderer. The wanted poster says dead or alive-she'd prefer dead. While on the trail, she gains the unwanted help of a marshal-turned-bounty hunter intent on catching the killer and bedding her. In pursuit of the renegade, Jack and Tessa Jane have to deal with the harshness of the Wild West and with their shared desires. However, can a handsome man with secrets and a beautiful woman with a violent past overcome their stubborn ways to share everlasting love? Or will an outlaw destroy them by revealing all their secrets? Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex and graphic language and violence.

4.0 out of 5 stars Devil's Kiss by Brenda Williamson 2 Feb 2009
By Natalie S - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
T.J. Creager is searching for the killer who murdered her family. Coming into town after dropping off a criminal with the sheriff, she puts on her only dress and heads to the saloon for a night of cards and drinking. While enjoying herself, a U.S. Marshall comes into the saloon amidst well wishers for his latest arrest. Unable to keep her eyes off of him, she finds that he is looking at her as well. When he walks over and tries to sweet talk his way into her bed, she dismisses him outright and leaves him standing.

Jack McCay has never met a woman he couldn't charm. That is, until he meets Tessa Jane Creager and she has to be one of the orneriest women alive. Unwilling to succumb to the carnality that he knows is in her nature, he finds himself falling for and desiring her completely.

T.J. doesn't have time for entanglement, especially with the past she intends to keep hidden. Jack is also hesitant to want beyond the here and now since he has secrets of his own.

Devil's Kiss was a good read. I found myself wanting to succumb to Jack just because. T.J. made me a bit restless however, just because of her stubbornness. I found myself wanting to yell at her to just GIVE IN!! All in all, I enjoyed Devil's Kiss very much. I thought the plot worked and the storyline flowed. Historical/western romances are some of my favorite genres to read and I love when I find a new author!

1.0 out of 5 stars the devil missed the mark 14 Mar 2008
By T. Patterson - Published on Amazon.com

I am not going to go into a rendition, I see this has been done. I am sorry to say this is the worst book I have read in a long time. The characters were not believable, the story was lame and poorly written. I found the author would jump from situation to situation, especially during intimate parts, without going into any details. I very RARELY find a book that I had to force myself to finish, but I paid money for this book so I had no choice. I do not recommend this book at all, if it were a free novel on the internet it still would not be worth the read.
