Denmark released, Blu-Ray/Region B DVD: LANGUAGES: English ( Dolby Digital 2.0 ), Danish ( Subtitles ), Finnish ( Subtitles ), Norwegian ( Subtitles ), Swedish ( Subtitles ), WIDESCREEN (1.78:1), SPECIAL FEATURES: Blu-Ray & DVD Combo, Interactive Menu, Scene Access, SYNOPSIS: During the early days of World War II, England hastily plans commando raids against the German forces to keep them at bay until the United States finishes massing its forces and starts sending America's troops into battle. In order to tie up the German forces and as a part of England's plan, the Allies create the 1st Special Service Force to prepare and carry out an attack on Norway. Antagonism immediately erupts between Canadian Maj. Alan Crown (Cliff Robertson) and American Maj Cliff Bricker (Vince Edwards) when this commando force, composed of Canadian soldiers and American GIs, is headed by Lt. Col. Robert T. Frederick (William Holden), a paper-pusher given his first field command. Frederick utilizes their mutual dislike as a basis for a rivalry that turns this rag-tag group of misfits into a disciplined fighting force. Frederick receives word that the Norway mission has been canceled after his men finally seem ready to fight. After appealing to Washington for another assignment for the commandos, the brigade is sent on a patrol near the German lines in southern Italy. The brigade captures an enemy-held village and is then given the seemingly impossible task of taking Mt. La Difensa. ...The Devil's Brigade (Blu-Ray & DVD Combo) (Blu-Ray)

5.0 out of 5 stars Enthralling movie 30 Nov 2005
Format:DVD
A good movie that you can watch over and over. Good acting, good story, lots of action. No love scenes or swearing and William Holden is tops.

4.0 out of 5 stars Die Teufelsbrigade 8 Jun 2007
By bernie VINE™ VOICE
Format:DVD
It is the height of the Second World War. Someone decided it was time to have a Joint Readiness Brigade. Many did not want to see it succeed so it was t consist of the bottom of the barrel US troops and crack Canadian troops. Naturedly to head this up was Lt. Col. Robert T. Frederick (William Holden), Maj. Alan Crown (Cliff Robertson), and Maj. Cliff Bricker (Vince Edwards).

The film is formula (a "Dirty Dozen" knockoff) where they must give a rag tag motley crew the incentive to become a cohesive fighting machine will a will to win in unorthodox ways. In the process they will become Die Teufelsbrigade or The Devil's Brigade.

I have to admit that this is fun to watch over again as we see the slow metamorphoses and ask what would I do in their shoes.
