Devil May Cry 3 unfolds an earlier chapter in Dante's history, before the original Devil May Cry, to the fateful clash between Sparda's twin sons, divided by the divergence of their chosen paths. Along the way, Dante encounters formidable foes and unusual characters including a mysterious man named Arkham and a female hunter named Lady whose mission is to take down all demons, including Dante. These precursory events disclose the complex roots of Dante's character and reveal insight into his clouded past. The game preserves the fast-paced action that has made the series so popular. In addition to its strong roots, the title increases the intensity of gameplay with a new "style" system, which adds an additional level of depth. Depending on preference, players can choose to use short-range, long-range, defensive or evasive play styles. Each system has its own range of gameplay features and players can power up their favorite style for increased special attack abilities.

Devil May Cry 3 is a superb action game. The combat is truly dynamic with many spectacular moves but the level design is complex with many hard to find items. I must admit I would not have been able to complete the game without the aid of this guide.
The book begins with profiles of the main characters and monsters and then moves on to the devil's arms and the actions associated with them. Guns and items and key items are then listed followed by the six different styles and every move and attack related to each style. The walkthrough is very comprehensive with each mission given a recommended style and choice of weapons. A map is given as are the positions of all hidden items and orbs. All secret missions are detailed with advice on how to complete them. The guide also states the best way to deal with the many bosses. The basics of play are also included. The back of the book has many walkthrough area maps and a foldout section detailing every single special move Dante can use. The back page details all the unlockables.
However, there is one blue orb fragment that is not in the guide. In the Subterranean Garden above and to the left of the God of Time Statue is a small passage. A fragment is inside.
This guide was published before the release of the Special Edition and does not include the battles with the Jester and Vergil's special moves with Yamato, Force Edge and Beowulf or his passage through the game. Otherwise for gamers having problems proceeding with this game this guide is highly recommended.

Awesome strategy guide! Between Bradygames and Prima, nobody else can make strategy guides like them. All full color, maps, and tons of useful information. If you are like me and like to find everything in the game you can't go wrong with this guide.

Dante is one heck of a Bishonen.

This Guide is alot bigger then the last 2 for the other Devil May Cry Guides, and helps alot more. It has pictures to drool over of Dante and Vergil as well where secrets are located and in depth boss battles. It helps getting through tuff missions and where to find all those blue orbs. This Guide also comes with a bonus fold-out for all of Dante's avaliable moves in each of his classes. So this is a must get for any fan of Devil May Cry, either for help or like me for the gorgeous pictures of Dante, with the bonus of Vergil, Dante's older twin brother. It's true what they say, Sparta's twin sons have differences to work out and it'll be an all out Bishonen Brawl with Dante vs Vergil. Get seats today ^__^

I couldn't get through this game without the guide. One of my first games and I don't have a lot of time for it, so a good guide to help me with where everything is located and how to defeat opponents, written clearly so even a new gamer can understand, was a huge help. Totally reccommend picking this up with the game!
