Martha Jones has run away from her wedding. Standing on the side of the road in the rain. Still wearing her wedding dress. A motorcycle approaches and stops a tall handsome man with startling green eyes dismounts and asks her if she needs help. Carlos Diablo Ortega, thought he was seeing things when he spotted a woman in a bridal gown at the side of the road thumbing a lift.
After a brief discussion mostly about whether Martha would be safe with him. Eventually assured she climbs on his bike. Due to the weather they take refuge in a hotel for the night.
I really loved this book, I know it's not realistic to meet a guy by thumbing a lift wearing your wedding dress, but the immediate attraction between them was red hot. It was written so well I wanted to believe it. Martha had only told Carlos her name was Miss Jones, he had given his name as Carlos Diablo. A name which Martha thought suited him so well. They give in to the heat and chemistry between them. But when Carlos discovers that Martha is a virgin he is furious he has a rule he never sleeps with virgins. He storms out of the hotel room to get some air but when he returns Miss Jones has gone. Carlos thinks he will never see her again. Little does he know that he will. A very satisfying read, filled with emotion and passion. Loved the characters. Martha was a really sweet girl open and honest. Carlos had recently made a discovery affecting his position in his family. But he is a good man at heart. Highly recommend.

THE DEVIL AND MISS JONES is multi published author, Kate Walker's sixtieth title! It is released by Mills & Boon Modern as well as Harlequin Presents line in April 2012.

Just as Martha Jones get in her wedding finery, she walks into her fiancé's bedroom to find him with her chief bridesmaid. She walks away from the wedding and runs into Carlos Ortega.

Carlos was also running away from everything. The attraction is instant and the chemistry between them crackles and sizzles.

This runaway bride has one passionate night with gorgeous Carlos. With no intention of being a clinging virgin, she walks away from him. But the consequences of that one night bring her back to face him a few months later. Will Carlos let Martha just walk back in his life? For he was devastated when he'd found her gone.

What will happen when Carlos finds out just why Martha is back? But they find to their surprise that attraction between them still sizzles!

Kate Walker has written a fun, engrossing and fast paced story in THE DEVIL AND MISS JONES. There are hidden depths to Martha and Carlos characters. The emotional and sensory details are exquisitely done. THE DEVIL AND MISS JONES has strong characters, snappy dialogue, and tender, sweet and exciting moments which will keep a reader riveted from the first page.

This must be the worst book I have ever read, you have to go through 3 chapters of mush before she eventually gets on the motorcycle, after 4 chapters I stopped reading it. what a waste of money this rubbish book is.
