3.0 out of 5 stars Cinema Club crap edition 7 Dec 2010
By AW
Format:DVD
Don't be a mug like me! Due to Amazon's idiotic policy of attaching all the reviews of a particular film to ALL the different DVD releases of the film in question, I bought this thinking I was getting the uncut edition with the extra European version, etc. So, please ignore the inferior, cut Cinema Club edition, even though it's cheaper than the Region 1. Surely, reviews should be only attached to the actual release that is being reviewed!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best 4 Feb 2008
Format:DVD
This is the best ventriloquist dummy horror film, and it's ranked as such on many cult classic film review sites.

Hugo is a very creepy little puppet who can walk, talk, and even kill. He is controlled, in more ways than one by his master The Great Vorelli, and the story starts with a bang since the main four characters are introduced right at the beginning, the aforementioned two accompanied by Mr Mark English, a reporter, and the wealthy aristocrat Miss Marianne Horn. There are many unexpected twists, and the secret of the dummy is a huge moment in the film, when a lot of pieces fit together.

I first saw it in 1994 when I was 14 years old, I set a tape for it, since it was on well after midnight, and watched it straight after school the next day, and I have been waiting for the dvd release for years and years.

It was available in America a couple of years ago, and it's about time that this classic, mysterious horror film is released here.

5 Stars all the way.
