Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Is there such a thing as rock anymore? It's alternative, or it's pop, or it's metal, or it's industrial, or it's techno. Or, it's Pitchshifter, who are all of the above... and then some. The influence of old-school punk like the Dead Kennedys is obvious, especially on songs like "As Seen on TV" ("When sport utility vehicles are no longer enough, you need the Terminator!"), but Pitchshifter have accomplished the difficult trick of melding several genres into a distinct sound. Perfectly at home in goth dance clubs and heavy metal mosh pits, they sprawl into head-spinning electronica experiments or straight-ahead riffage (the guitar line from "Stronger" sounds like it was written by Rob Zombie), and they're never boring. --Genevieve Williams

This latest release from Pitchshifter is an outstaning work of modern metal. After the brilliance of www.pitchshifter.com, it is hard to believe that an album of the same quality could be achieved never mind better. The riffs are powerful, the beats enchanting and the lyrics make points that need to be made! Viva la resistance, viva Pitchshifter - long may JS reign. The question is, where will PSI go now?

Well after being a fan of pitchshifter seemingly forever, as soon as deviant came out I just had to buy it straight away and was not at all disappointed. Never before have I heard such astonishing use of heavy guitars over such an irrelevant drum n base backing, take 'hidden agenda' for example, an amazing track that if you hear live you'll get the full benefit from. If you love any drum n base with a difference you must NOT rest until you hear this album.

Amazing Album 5 Nov 2000
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
To be honest this is the only Pitchshifter album I have but it's one of my favourite albums which is compaired to Nirvana,Placebo,Pearl Jam and Soulfly to name a few. Tracks like Everything's F***** and Forget The Facts are shearly awesome. This album captures all aspects of alternate rock. If you like bands like Radiohead and Prodigy then Pitchshifter are a band for you. An Easy 5 stars.
