This book is an excellent tool for teachers of English everywhere! It allows pupils to experiment deconstructing texts by following guidelines. It teaches them to find both the explicit and implicit meanings in a variety of different texts.

I have used this book with a top set year nine and have used the Basic Comprehension book by the same publisher with a lower ability set. The book is also suitable for use with lower abilty GCSE classes to revise techniques which they may have 'forgotten'!
