Manufacturer's Description

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

You play Adam Jensen, an ex-SWAT specialist who's been handpicked to oversee the defensive needs of one of America's most experimental biotechnology firms. Your job is to safeguard company secrets, but when a black ops team breaks in and kills the very scientists you were hired to protect, everything you thought you knew about your job changes.

Badly wounded during the attack, you have no choice but to become mechanically augmented and you soon find yourself chasing down leads all over the world, never knowing who you can trust. At a time when scientific advancements are turning athletes, soldiers and spies into super enhanced beings, someone is working very hard to ensure mankind's evolution follows a particular path.

You need to discover where that path lies. Because when all is said and done, the decisions you take, and the choices you make, will be the only things that can change it.

Deus Ex

A divided near-future: discover a time of great technological advancement, but also a time of chaos and conspiracy. Mechanical augmentations of the human body have divided society between those who can afford them, and those who can't. Opposing forces conspire from the shadow to control the destiny of mankind: a human revolution is coming.

Deus Ex

A perfect mix of action and role-play: the game uniquely combines action-packed close-quarter takedowns with intense shooting, offering a vast array of character augmentations and upgrades for the many weapons at your disposal. Unlock new abilities and increase your stealth, social, hacking or combat skills: the game rewards all styles of play and approaches. Determine how you want your character to evolve, based on how you want to play the game.

Choices and consequences: shoot your way through your enemies, sneak up behind them without being traced, hack systems to retrieve crucial information, or use your social skills to extract information from key characters--there are always choices, multiple approaches, multiple paths and multiple tools at your disposal. Choose your playing style and face the consequences of your actions: you decide how the story unfolds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding! 10 Sept. 2011
Platform for Display:PC|Edition:Augmented Edition
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game lives up to all expectations and then adds some! From the start it was captivating and compelling drawing you into the world that has been so masterfully created. There is so much to explore and do. In the manual it tells you that you can't get all the argumentations, well while this is true, you can get 95% of them if you explore everything and HACK everything, do not use the codes or passwords as this will reduce your score. So I played it twice and never used one code or machine to open any door or computer and my score went through the roof, I was able to get everything I could want. Knowing this will make the game more enjoyable, but it is up to you!

There are a few things you need to know:
1: Even though I pre-ordered to get the additional stuff, it took 6 hours to download when I installed, this was very painful (but worth it in the end) so make sure you have plenty of install time available.

2: Steam is a little annoying but you get used to it, I found it very stable, but would drop you back to the STEAM screen sometimes in the game.

3: Game stability is outstanding, I have played this game for 85 hours and had only one crash when I re-loaded the same save for an hour and half (when I was stuck) and this is the one and only time it every crashed. It performed smoothly and brilliantly on maximum resolution. I have 1 gig of video RAM so I guess this helped. But overall one of the most stable games I have ever played.

4: Make sure you save regular as there are many times you may want to re-think what you did.

This truly is a 5 star game and I highly recommend it to anyone, I will be getting the DLC as soon as it is available in October.

First of all i like to thank Amazon for there prompt delivery & price promise, i pre ordered this a while back, it arrived on the 27/8/11 & i saved a further £9 pound plus as well, cheers guys, will be pre ordering again from you

Now for the review, been a big fan of the Deus Ex games so when i heard they would be doing another instalment i thought id keep an eye on it, been following from the early days of development, reading a watching interviews from Art Director Jonathan Jacques-Belletete,(he looks like the main character Adam Jensen by the way, dam cool dude lol) which i realy enjoyed listening to him, he is very passionate about his vision of the game & it shows, its a stunning & very atmospheric game, also quite apt with whats going on with the World today,

The game is set in a near future where corporations have extended their influence past the reach of global governments, the game follows Adam Jensen, the security chief for one of the game's most powerful corporations, Sarif Industries, he his hired after his girlfriend who works for Sarif Industries recommends him for the position, he previously worked as a SWAT Officer but after things went wrong on a case he was dismissed & looking for work, not long after starting his new position there is a devastating attack on Sarif's headquarters, heavly armed & Augmented Mercanaries/Soldiers siege the building, Adam tries to fight them but is overwhelmed, he is left for dead as he sees his girlfiend taken hostage by them, he wakes up six months later after finding out that he had to undergo radical surgeries that fuse his body with mechanical augmentations, he is more machine than man but his heart, soul & mind remain strong & keep him human, he resents being Augmented as it wasnt by choice but realises that he wouldnt be

4.0 out of 5 stars High expectations..! 21 Sept. 2011

The legacy of Deus Ex weights heavily on anything related to it. DX:HR does not come short to deliver a real Deus Ex experience! It's story is just sucked me in, combined with an amaaaaaaazing atmosphere created from the awesome art style and tie-in music along with the proffesional voice acting really immersed me into it's universe!
However, great games come with great expectations, on some parts it comes short compared to the first game. I didn't feel the it being as interactive as the first one, taking into concideration the enviroments and how your choices impact the wolrd, nevertheless there is A LOT of choice and the possibilities seem endless. The biggest oversight being the bosses, I liked them as an addition in the game, but the excecution was so poor...
Bottom line, it's an amazing game, with great aesthetics and story, deffinetely worth a play!

5.0 out of 5 stars pure nostalgia 8 Jan. 2012

Being a huge fan of the fan of the franchise, and waiting for this title since it was first announced (known then as Deus Ex 3) I was not left disapointed, every action taken (conversation's, decisions on how to handle a quest etc) change the over all outcome of the game.

A note to first person shooter fans this is an RPG and should be played like one to achive the full eperience and it is recommend you do a number of play thoughs to get your money's worth.

This game gave me a feeling of nastalgia in a genre which is rare of today and it is an amazing title, recommends to anyone who loves good narative, and a story that changes from the actions of the player.

One of the best games of the year.
