About DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION – Director’s Cut

Praised for its in-game art and cinema-quality storyline, DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION has garnered critical acclaim from the media and consumers alike since its original release in August 2011 . Director’s Cut features include visual improvements, overhauled boss fights, reinforced combat mechanics and much more making it the ultimate HUMAN REVOLUTION experience.
In DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION, the year is 2027– a time of great innovation in neuroprosthetics, but also a time of chaos, conspiracy, and social divide. Adam Jensen, a man cybernetically augmented against his own choice, finds himself in the middle of a mysterious, global plot to which he holds the key. By offering players vastly different ways to play,  DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION challenges the foundation of gaming and provides an immersive experience where every choice has a lasting consequence.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is one of the few games that puts you in charge of your own destiny; and brings a fluid and fast role-playing element to its action-packed gameplay. A legend has been reborn!

Fill the bionic sci-fi boots of Adam Jensen, the security chief at a biotechnology firm that has been devastated by a Black Ops attack. The long-awaited prequel to the iconic Deus Ex series, this first-person action-adventure sees you traveling the world on the hunt for the culprits of the vicious attack, using augmented tech to infiltrate a shadowy underworld and bring down your targets.

  • Go Your Own Way – want to roar through the front doors, guns blazing? No problem! Creep across a roof and slip silently through an open window? Whatever you want! Or how about crawling down air vents before leaping out to surprise your foe? Really, go for it! Deus Ex: Human Revolution lets you decide how you want to tackle each

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
Got this at Xmas, and surprised there hasn't been any customer reviews as of yet. I feel this is mainly down to the bad press of the dire X360 release of the same name which maybe putting people off purchasing it. While no nowhere near as glitchy or broken as the X360 release, it's not perfect and has some bizarre audio and texture issues.

These issues don't really make the game unplayable, but as somebody who played the original 'Human Revolution' several times, these problems are hard to ignore.

I haven't tried the PSVita connectivity, so I cannot comment on it's functionality.

Audio of certain weapons, like the machine pistol, sounding "tinny" and not as vibrant or punchy as what it did in the original release. Strange radio chatter noises and intermittent flashing radio icons when the director commentary kicks in, this happens even when you have the commentary turned off. The chatter/clicking noises and random flashing radio icons can become a constant irritation as it can happen unexpectedly throughout key points of the game. Voice dialogue and ambient sound effects, also seems overly compressed and of low quality. These problems are fairly randomized, e.g: NPC talking to you at one point only to start a new sentence to sound very subdued and of low quality. Which comes as a disappointment when the rest of audio sounds fantastic, rich and atmospheric.

Texture's on floors, roof tiles and the distant building's in city hubs seem to be enlarged, stretched or zoomed in. This makes textures seem of a lower quality compared to other parts of the game. E.g: You'll come across "blocky" textures on apartment floor, while the wall texture beside it looks detailed and crisp.

4.0 out of 5 stars Absolute GREAT game. 27 Jun 2014
By Stephen

I originally had the normal edition on Xbox 360, but when I learnt that there was a Directors Cut which had everything from all DLC included, improved gameplay and mechanics, for a very good price, I bought mine for 5.99.

It is literally one of the best games I have every played, and I highly recommend you to play this if you like Single player, RPG, stealth, explore, pickup collectible type games. As much as I highly recommend this game, there are a few issues. I have not added everything on here of what I think is good or bad, but it should give you a good idea.

1: You get all of the DLC from the original game which you would have needed to buy, but with the Director's cut, you don't. This includes:
The Missing Link: Merged into the game, unlike the original. Show's what happens to Jensen after the harbor mission and before the Singapore mission.
Tactical Enhancement Pack: 3 new weapons including the Huntsman Silverback Double-Barreled Shotgun, Longsword Whisperhead Sniper Rifle (Silenced), and C4 detonation packs, along with a new item which was originally included in pre-order packs for the original, the Automatic Unlocking Device, which all of these can be found as you go through the game.
Tongs Rescue Bonus Mission: You are given a bonus mission by Tong to save his son before you are able to move on to the harbor mission.
2: Improved Boss fights and gameplay: Boss fights were pretty boring and not much happened in the original, but in the director's cut, there are more rooms and more ways on how to defeat the bosses you find. Also gameplay has been improved throughout the game.
3: Live commentary: During gameplay, you can listen to the game developers talking about certain aspects of the game whilst you play.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blew my mind 5 Mar 2014

I love this game more than everything in my collection, minus Arkham City... It's a must have, choice driven (even when you don't know it - *hint hint Namir*) story, that I absolutely love.. I didn't even know when it was Missing Link until they said it in the comentary... So, it's amazing, in a word

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth it 26 May 2014

The boss battles in the original were a big issue, they felt wrong and alien to the rest of the game. This directors cut helps to make things right.

If you have not played this, or even if you have, I would strongly recommend it
