I found this book incredibly helpful in sorting out a complete mess of my household finances. Lots of good ideas and tips, easy to read, and really engaging.

This book is packed with handy tips to help you gain control of your finances. Like all books that are really useful I have found myself coming back to it time and time again, dipping in and out and picking up something new on each occasion (or simply reminding myself to follow through on something that I have picked up earlier!). There is a wry humour throughout which is especially helpful in a book of this nature and makes it very approachable.

It's so easy to feel powerless when financial issues become messy so I found it very useful that the book offers lots of alternative starting points from which to begin to get control - from the big to the small - and that's meant being able to make a difference without being overwhelmed. Recommended!

Full of simple ideas that can have a dramatic effect, this was an interesting read the first time around, and will be kept nearby as a handy reference. Not too much financial mumbo jumbo (hardly any in fact !) - just nuggets of practical ideas that that I sure will be useful. Not all of it will be useful for everyone, it depends on your particular circumstances, but I am sure that everyone will pick up at least one idea that will benefit them. Highly recommended !

From now on, every time you come across an item that you would normally be tempted to splash out on and which costs a significant amount (you decide what counts as significant), hold back from buying it. Go home and put it on your 28-day list. Make a note of the item, the date you saw it and the cost. If after 28 days you revisit your list and still think it would be a good buy, then consider acquiring it. If you do buy it, the heightened anticipation of finally getting your hands on it after a wait of 28 days and more is quite something. "e;
