About the Author

Maggie Pannell is an experienced and enthusiastic food and nutrition writer with a keen interest in healthy eating. She trained as a home economist, then spent several years working in the food and diet industry. From there she moved on to a career in journalism and has since written and edited many books, including Amazing Meals for under GBP 2.50 a Person; Healthy One Dish Cooking; and the Eat Well Live Well series (all published by Reader's Digest); DIVA Cookbook (Mitchell Beazley); Cooking for Special Diets: High Blood Pressure (Thorsons); and The Dairy-free Cookbook, The Allergy-free Cookbook, and The High Vitality Cookbook in the Healthy Eating Library (also published by Lorenz Books). Great book for a detox. Very easy to follow instructions and very tasty meals. You cant go wrong!!!! Changed the way we eat forever!

Maggie Panell creates an appetising set of menus that would appeal even to those not on a detox programme. As it stands this is an excellent cookbook - easy-to-read font size, mouth-watering photography, superbly organised layout and step-by-step methods to produce excellent and healthy food with enthusiasm. The large size (a)emphasises the quality of the fresh and prepared foods so stunningly photographed and (b)makes it easy to use in the kitchen bookstand (big enough to keep the page open unaided while you're chopping tomatoes, etc). Used in conjunction with Jane Scrivner's "Detox Yourself" which focuses on the activities of the body during a detoxing programme, these two books provide everything one could want - not just for a week but as a life-long routine - to improve body and mind, health and wellbeing. You'll feel and look better and find you have more energy, more zest for life!

I bought this book, and absolutely loved how complete it was. The recipes are positively yummy! The reason that I did not give it 5 stars is because it is missing a shopping list. Yes I am lazy, but the two week plan goes by recipe, so you have to flick through the pages to determine what you need for each recipe...In the end I shopped every 3 days...but it was very good!
