Product Description

Review

"'Enough to satisfy the most ardent lover of crime fiction' Yorkshire Evening Post 'One of Yorkshire's best-kept secrets' Crime Time 'Pawson is a good writer, and has created a meaty, readable detective story. However, it is the humanity of his characters that really makes Over The Edge distinctive' Glasgow Herald"

Product Description

Joe Crozier, a businessman with a decidedly shady past, is enjoying being wined and dined, but refusing his host's request, costs Joe more than he could ever have imagined...Bound and gagged, he takes a silent and deadly dip in the nearby river. Meanwhile. Charlie Priest is called to another murder scene, only to find that the victim is an old school friend of his, the famous mountaineer, Tony Krabbe. But what could this amiable lecturer have done to deserve being attacked with his own ice-pick? And could the two cases be linked?

5.0 out of 5 stars Cracking entertainment!, 17 Nov 2004

MARTIN CLAYTON "Ricky Bobby Clayton" (Summer Wine Country, West Yorkshire, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
A much underrated author, Pawson has created a lovable character in Charlie Priest, who lives an exciting life, whilst maintaining a very normal personality.
As usual this book contains lots of humour which balances with the violent crimes, and makes for a wonderful read.
Cannot recommend highly enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Those who haven't read DI Charlie Priest are missing a treat!, 13 Feb 2010
This review is from: Over the Edge (Detective Inspector Charlie Priest Mystery) (Paperback)
This is the 10th book in Stuart Pawson's impressive series featuring long-serving Detective Inspector Charlie Priest and his team at Heckley nick.
The wise-cracking and irrepressible Yorkshire humour somehow manages to hone down the sordid nature of the very real criminal situations Charlie encounters and Stuart is incredibly competent interweaving many variable themes which come together well .
The world of greed, corruption, murder, intimidation, people trafficking, smuggling, and fraud - Stuart has it all.
This is a series not to be missed.
Book 13 had just been released - eagerly anticipated!
