This short, concise text about some essential guidelines in the field of typography is a great entry into the world of letters and words. It is written in a way that makes the subject easy to understand even for non-typographers, but nevertheless comprehensive enough to act as reference for experts as well. I enjoyed both, the German and the English version of this nicely designed object and also added it to the reading list for my students.

A beautifully presented and eloquently written volume, Detail in Typography introduces what has the potential to be a daunting and complicated subject in a straight-forward and attractive manner. Care is taken to combine the easy and highly readable text with useful referential diagrams and images so that clarity and understanding can be quickly aquired by even those, such as myself, who have no background or external teaching in the subject of typography.
A lovely and invaluable little book I would recommend to anyone interested in or studying typography.

Was disappointed with this book - not much of it; its alot of waffle about type face. I would have expected to have got this free with a magazine.
There are far better books about Script/Typeface - dont waste your money on this. Unfortunately this book in my opinion doesnt even warrant shelf space.
