Sounding like a blend of Helloween with a hint of Manowar and with Rainbow as one of their major influences, the band are masters at mixing pomp & power metal with Nordic overtones. The comparisons with Helloween are justified with many facets of that band's musical style obvious here, particularly speed metal with melodic high pitched vocals & intrumental breaks ('No Turning Back' and parts of 'Destiny').
Favouring elaborate production (featuring choirs, harpsichords and strings) and keyboards, there is enough originality (though barely at times!) to stop them just being another Helloween sound-alike.
Highly Recommended, especially for Helloween fans.
Highlights: the lengthy title track - a work of epic sounding proportions with different paced phases ranging from the choirboys in the introduction, speed power metal to power ballad; the power metal rocker and single 'SOS' (with yet more choirboys!); the outstanding (and epic sounding) power metal ballad '4000 Rainy Nights'; the power ballad 'Years Go By' with string section accompanyment; the metal rocker 'Playing With Fire' with a chorus that wouldn't be out of place on a AOR song!; the metal power ballad 'Venus..' featuring more strings; the excellent 'Anthem Of The World' featuring different paced sections ranging from the anthemic string section enhanced riff & choirs to speed power metal.
