Thank you Epic... about time. This is the fifth compilation album for Altered Images and it is by far one of the best... Compared to the two previous compilation. This album has two previously unreleased tracks "Small Without Me" and "Las Vegas Lullaby." Both written by Grogan and Lironi, and of course sung by Clare herself. I was blown away by these two songs... "Small without me" is slick and captivatingly sassy. While "Las Vegas Lullaby" is sweet and dreamy. Clare's voice sounds unbelieveable. The strength of these two songs alone actually make me sad. Sad, you may ask why? Because it's too bad the band broke up. And unfortunately Clare's not in the music business anymore, with such a sweet voice, charm, and her talent it's a pity. Oh well that's life, so they say... "nothing good lasts forever." While this album is similar to the past complations it has some gems on it including a live version of "Insects" (not noted for some odd reason?) and an brillant 10 page CD insert with vintage pictures and notes by Clare Grogan!!! and John Peel! Completely worth every cent I paid. A definite must for any A.I. fan or anyone dabbling in the pleasures of post-punk modern pop.

Ah, Altered Images were great. When I was at school I was either going to marry Debbie Harry or Clare Grogan, unsurprisingly I ended up with neither, still that's life...

The band got their name from the back of a Buzzcocks' single - also worth checking out if you like AI. All the hits are on here from "Happy Birthday" to "Pinky Blue", but the highlight for me is the excellent "Bring Me Closer" taken from the brilliant "Bite" album.
