I love this book for its vintage look, from the soft leather cover to the cream pages and vintage style font and illustrations. It has the following sections: itinerary, names & addresses, hotels where i stayed, restaurants i enjoyed, shopping & gifts, sites & excursions, notes & incidents, autographs & sketches, ephemera, as well as page with personal details, and pages with outbound and homebound trip details.
If you follow the sections this book is ideal for one long trip. You can be really neat and fill them in as you go. Or, if you're like me, you'll write where you feel like, without much care for the titles and sections, and in doing so make it look a bit anarchic and arty. Your choice. But it's worth it, it handles really well, the paper is very good with fountain pen, and as for drawing i would not recommend water based media, i think it looks nicer if you stick pictures to it, or use pencils, pens or ink. A good idea to keep within the style is to stick sepia or black and white pictures of your trip. It has a pocket at the back like the Moleskine books to keep loose papers or whatever. If you want to keep things simple, this book is all you need to take contacts, ideas for routes, bits of paper, and to write a travel journal as you go along. I'd recommend its use for one trip only.
