This "Destination" is somewhere you will want to arrive at - and stay there for a long time to come! Every track is consistently excellent - there is nothing to let the album down. Each track has an appeal of it's own, and yet there is also a magical continuity about the album that lifts your mood with every successive track, giving you exactly what you want to hear each time.
The first two tracks "I Love It When We Do" and "Love Won't Work (if we don't try)" are instantly infectious rockin' numbers, either of which could be a great single. With most of the album co-written by Gregg Alexander, who was also behind "Lovin' Each Day" and "Rollercoaster", the characteristic heavy guitar-based backing soon lifts your spirits and draws you into it's warm enveloping sound. Ronan's warm and distinctive voice has matured, and is shown off in all it's glory here. Strong and clear, soft and tender, he seems to have a wonderful gift for bestowing each note he sings with exactly the emotion and passion that brings the lyrics to life, and gives them meaning. He truly feels the emotions that he is singing about and puts his heart and soul into every song.
The most surprising track for me is "You're Pickin' Me Up" - so fresh and catchy, you won't get it out of your head. Another stand-out track is "My One Thing That's Real", a beautiful song that sweeps you from quiet reflection to full-blown passion before you can draw breath. I must also mention The Long Goodbye, a beautiful, meaningful song that will touch many hearts.
"Destination" is a masterpiece that will bring Ronan the recognition and respect he has long deserved. Whether you liked his first album or not, or even if you didn't give it a chance, don't judge this one before you've heard it. Believe me, every negative pre-conception that anyone has ever formed about Ronan will be shattered if they hear this... Even the cynics will be "Blown Away" - and that happens to be the title of yet another amazing track....

5.0 out of 5 stars He's bold, he better and he's BACK! 27 May 2002
Format:Audio CD
After a noticeable long absense from the pop scene, Ronan Keating returns with Destination, a happy, summery album with sounds that won't stay out of your head and lyrics that make you smile!
With tracks mainly writen by Gregg Alexander, this album proves that Ronan Keating is back and has certainly reached his destination, a good place to be!
There are ballads of course, the now well known IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES may be a tear jerker but it certainly doesn't bring you down, nor does the beautiful LONG GOODBYE, penned by Ronan and Paul Brady. Not typical of the rest of the rest of the album, but these tracks compliment it perfectly.
The album bursts into life with I LOVE IT WHEN WE DO and not only will you find it hard to keep still while listening to this track, you will also be very tempted to hum the chorus for several hours after listening. There are many catchy and contagious tracks like that on this album with clever tongue in cheek lyrics, but there is just the right touch of depth in the ballads and a few surprises as Ronan proves he has the vocal prowess to tackle a new dimension in his music. This is particularly obvious on tracks like MY ONE THING THAT'S REAL and TIME FOR LOVE. Both prove that Ronan is now miles away from the early Boyzone days of cheesy pop. The only track on the album that is reminiscent of those days, in my opinion, is AS MUCH AS I CAN GIVE YOU GIRL, but Ronan's voice has grown up. It has a new warmth and strength and is stretched to it's limits here.
If you liked Brand New Radicals, you'll like this. If you're a sucker for a sloppy ballad or even something with a bit more depth, you'll find it all here! A clever combination of foot tappers and swayers, a must for the car. It will make that journey to work something to look forward to.
Well done Ronan, welcome back!

5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite album of 2002 4 Jan 2003
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Like most of the previous reviewers have stated this album grows on you. This has become one of my favourite albums. Ronan seems to be much more comfortable and confident with this album. His debut seemed "bit-y", whereas the tracks on this album fit nicely together.
There are more uptempo tracks on this album than on his debut. Opening songs "I love it when we do" and "Love won't work" are great pop tracks.
"Come be my bady", "My One thing that's real" and "As much as I can give you girl" are the songs that you find yourself going back to listen to over again. I was pleasantly surprised by these songs. Ronan's vocals sound fantastic on these and are much more original than most chart songs out at the moment.
Of course the ballads are what Ronan does best. "If tomorrow never comes", "We've got tonight" ft Lulu and the emotional "The long goodbye" (the best song Ronan has co-written) are brilliant.
Well done Ronan! Look forward to the third album

5.0 out of 5 stars The best album Ronan has done yet!!! 24 April 2002
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Destination is Ronan's best album to date. The first single to be taken from Destination is the moving ballad If Tomorrow Never Comes. If your looking for an album to suit your every moodDestination is the one. If your in a happy mood then the likes of Lovin' Each Day and Love The Way We Do. Come Be My Baby is the type of song you would roll down the window and have it blaring (a feel good summer tune.) My One Thing That's Real will totaly blow you away leaving you thinking "That's not Ronan singing!?!?!" If your in a lovey mood then The Long Goodbye and Time for Love will satisfy your needs. Your pickin' me up is a great pop tune which is about how messed up life is. All round I feel that anyone who buys this album are spending their money wisely!!!
