Product Description

Destination Hogwarts is the fast moving, Harry Potter game that will take you on a journey through Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the surrounding grounds!?

As a student you will visit famous destinations in and around Hogwarts collecting House Points as you go, whilst trying to avoid the hazards along the way.

The object of the game is to be the student who earns the most House Points. From the Start position you must plan your route around Hogwarts without losing all your House Points or getting expelled.

But watch other players' moves carefully: if they land on one of your Destinations you can knock them back to the Start and relieve them of their House Points.

If you are the student that brings the game to a close you will gain 150 bonus House Points.

But you have you won?

I'm over the moon with this Christmas present for our 7 year old granddaughter.
It's easy enough for her to learn but interesting and fun for all ages, As said in other reviews, the games don't last too long. The hazard cards really do throw you some curved balls, plus, 2 to 8 players is excellnt family fun!!

My daughter is a major Harry Potter fan, so this had to be bought. She loves it! We all love it as a family, as do friends who come over and play it with us.

It's easy to explain and understand, although rules are a bit vague, which loses it a star - nothing you can't decided as a family how to overcome though. The board is a map of the Hogwarts site, which includes the school, Express Line, Enchanted Forest, Black lake, etc. As few as two can play, up to eight or more if you partner up. Unusual collection of characters as playing pieces - the expected Harry, Hermione, Ron and Luna are here, but then you get Crabbe and Goyle as well - no-one has wanted to play with them yet!

If you know The London Game, this is a bit like that, where you have sites to visit, then race to get back to your starting point (one of the common rooms.) It's also a bit like Monopoly, as you have a collection of house points to start (which resemble monopoly money and are thick paper, hence durability rating) and collect more with each site you visit. More sites (cards) are picked up with each you visit, so you're scampering about the board, and can be sent back to base if you land on someone else's site. The winner is the player to have collected most house points by the time the first player returns to their common room when all cards have gone. The first player back might not be the winner! And counting house points is a mathematical challenge: counting in 100s, 10s and units :)Hence educational rating!

We've always had good fun playing - my children are 9 and 11, and although my eldest 'slightly' prefers HP Cluedo, my youngest hasn't yet discovered how to play that tactically, so this suits her better. Recommended!

I can not recommend this game enough! It is a must have for every Harry Potter fan! My 5 year old can even join in with a little help reading so do not be put off with the 8+ age recommendation. It is an excellent fun way for helping the younger family members practice their counting and reading skills.

The whole family really loves this game which is rare because the ages range between 5 and 41. It last just long enough (about an hour) and there is a clear ending so there is no arguments about who was the winner because it is simple - WHO has the most house points?

Buy a gift that will be loved for years to come and bring your family together for some none "digital" quality time....

Great family game ... even if some generations wouldn't know a Harry Potter character if they met one!! Arrived on time, well packaged. No complaints at all.

Destination London was good but Wow Destination Hogwarts! A must for any Harry potter fan who happens to love Board Games.

My only issues are that the split of character tokens aren't equal between the four houses. There are more Gryffindor than any other house no Hufflepuff, and only one Ravenclaw Tokens.

But a lot of fun to play with friends!

she a mega HP fan, and she adores it. Not sure it would be that great if you weren't a hardened fan. Mind you, I'm guessing kids would enjoy it more than us adults. We take out the card that says 'you die', as it spoils the game.
