Book Description

Bill Waverly is a husband, a father, and an accountant. But there's one title you won't see next to his name: Killer.

Living an ordinary life, Bill's world is about to be thrown into extraordinary turmoil when he takes a wrong turn and ends up on Desolation Road---a winding, obsolete throughway on the outskirts of town. But what he doesn’t know is that trouble is heading his way from around the bend—and he’ll be forced to make a split second decision, one that will send him running for his life. One he can never take back.

From Andrew E. Kaufman, #1 bestselling author of The Lion, the Lamb, the Hunted and While the Savage Sleeps, comes a gripping new psychological thriller.

2.0 out of 5 stars He wasn't lying when he said it was short 23 July 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought this for my Kindle to read whilst camping weekend past thinking a short story would be good rather than a full novel... my god think I had it done in under 5 minutes it was extremely short and more read like a campfire horror story given I was camping it was perhaps apt in that respect.

It was ok and to be honest I felt a little cheated given the price I paid for it as it represented pretty poor value as I have heard jokes that are longer.

To be honest I wouldn't bother buying the book as the ending was incredibly predictable.

It's a shame as I loved this author's other book The Lion, The Lamb, The Hunted but I have been left with a bad taste in my mouth for paying for something that I have no doubt he wrote in a few hours and quite frankly most of you if not all of you reading this review could easily drum up something like this yourself in a day.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed 1 Jan. 2014

The story itself is written as well as everything else I have read of this author - very good indeed. Unfortunately, no where does it tell you that a great percentage of the e-book is made up of a section of one of his other books - already bought and read.

No I did not enjoy this book and thought it was a poor representation of the authors previous work. I would think twice before purchasing further titles.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great short story in the style of O Henry. 1 Mar. 2012

A wonderful, engaging read. Has you hooked immediately (which is, I guess the point of a short story), with a "twist" at the end.

Andrew E. Kaufman has quickly become one of my favorite authors. He has a fantastic imagination and is able to tell a story that leaves me on the edge of my seat. This one was no different and left my heart racing after I finished.

Yet another winner from Andrew E. Kaufman! A well written short story that grabs your attention from the start. And as usual, knocks you for a loop at the end. It's a must read!

1.0 out of 5 stars To short of a story 7 Jan. 2013

It was a good quick story but that was so short it was not worth my .99 cents. I think a few more pages would have done it justice
