I needed this to mount a TV in a corner in the bedroom (and on a stud wall), but with the ability to swing it out to watch it more comfortably. This does the job perfectly, as the arm has quite a long reach, and is very strong. The backing plate spreads the load on the plasterboard, but I used spacers in the cavity and bolted through from the other side (conveniently in a cupboard). As another reviewer mentioned, the arm needed loosening (socket set and WD40), and my wife can now move it with ease. Caution: if you do loosen the bolts before mounting it to the wall, watch your fingers! The front plate can also be rotated, but the socket head screws are a little delicate, so try not to mangle the heads. Oh yes, and its very good value for money!
