To assist you when you are building a whole house or just one room, you have a ruler, guidelines and a grid. With a mouse click, you can move into design mode which shows you the building in an impressive photo-realistic 3-D view.
In design mode, you can plan the interior of buildings. To help you, there is a catalogue with more than 3,000 objects and textures. Using Drag and Drop functions you can change the colour of walls, add paint, wallpaper or tiles. You can even add in lights and create photo-realistic representations of light and shadow. And if you want to take it a stage further, you can enter the time of day and see the light effects of the sun and the moon.
This is a good tool for home improvement enthusiasts. You can re-decorate, re-model or expand your home on your computer and there is a cost estimation section to make sure you keep within budget. To guide you through the process, there is a manual on a PDF file which explains thoroughly how to use the program.
Architects, interior designers, builders and furniture manufacturers will find this software useful. Not just for creating projects but also for presentations.
One slight downside is that this software takes a while to install but it's worth the wait for the 2-D and 3-D viewing and the detail which offers you functions such as a dedicated roof editor to allow for various different types of roof design. --Justin Hunt
